Bows are oversized and used as statement accents.

Lace is still a big influence, many designers recognising the power of the " Kate Middleton effect" , ( the kate middleton dress is now on display at at buckingham palace). Statement backs, in the form of low cut backs and open backs which may or may not be filled with lace or embellished sheer fabric.
The mermaid style is still feauturing strongly for those confident enough for a figure hugging silhouette.
Tiers, layers and ruffles.,,but with a modern twist.
Neckline trends for winter 2012 and spring 2013 include the use of the boat neck and the illusion neckline created from netting or lace.
